Discharge from behavioral health treatment is a significant milestone, but not always the end of a worker’s recovery journey. As providers, we have the responsibility to anticipate future stressors, equip our patients with coping strategies, and provide clear guidance for continued care if needed. Whether the injured worker is returning to full duty, transitioning to a new setting, or has reached Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI), discharge planning should always include forward-looking recommendations.
